Spring Break: Prologue

Spring break came so quickly upon all of us. We started planning it back in February, but after we made all of our reservations and grabbed the cheapest plane tickets we could find, it seemed so far off in the future. But time just flew by...

First, it was time to start thinking about what we wanted to pack, then the time came to actually start packing, and before we knew it, we were on a bus to Toulouse, then a plane to London. I remember feeling slightly nervous about the fact that we were leaving our safe haven in Ambialet, that we would be on our own for two and a half weeks in unfamiliar cities. But I was also excited to explore and take in what London and Rome would have to offer.

Our trip began on Thursday night, the 12th of March. Ten of us, headed for London, said goodbye to Ambialet. As we headed west toward the Toulouse airport, a beautiful sunset unfolded before us. I can’t even begin to describe the magnificence of the sight; it was as if Monet himself had painted the scene. Shades of blue, purple, pink, orange, and gold blended flawlessly into each other.

I couldn't have imagined a better send-off.
